A specialised workshop entitled “How to Create a Template for the Identification of Tibetan Xylographs” was held at the MIASU on January 8 and 9. It was organised by Michela Clemente within the Marie Curie project entitled “Tibetan Book Evolution and Technology (TiBET)”. The project has the aim of identifying Tibetan xylographs through a study of their characteristic stylistic features, their colophons and with the help of materials analysis. The workshop brought together scholars working on Tibetan prints but also on material analysis. It aimed at discussing various aspects of the TiBET project such as codicology, analysis of wood, paper and pigments as well as examination of the style of illustrations.
