Nation-building processes of the Buryats, Kalmyks and Tuvans of Russia:

between Ethnic Pride and Unshakeable Loyalty

Marina Romanova Saidukova got her PhD in Political Science from the
Public Service Academy of the President of the Russian Federation. She
also worked as a parliamentary correspondent of ITAR-TASS in State
Duma for many years and as a special correspondent in Kremlin pool of
journalists covering news of Vladimir Putin’s first term as a
president.
After going back to academia, she become a fellow at the Department of
National and Federal Relations in the Public Service Academy. Now she
is reading in Mongolian State University in Ulaanbaatar.

Research interests: Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tuva and Inner Asia
(Mongolia); ethnicity and nationalism, anthropology of power,
political culture in Inner Asia, post-socialist political forms and
imagination.
